We recruit, license and equip foster parents with the training, resources and ongoing support they need to care for children with a variety of needs as they help them move toward greater stability.

“Becoming a foster family with Embrace has been one of the most meaningful experiences for our family. From the beginning, the Embrace team has walked alongside us, providing guidance, encouragement and support whenever we needed it. Knowing we have a caring team behind us has given us the confidence to open our home and provide a safe, loving place for children when they need it most.”

DAYS OF FOSTER CARE PROVIDED FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH WHILE TRAINING & SUPPORTING FOSTER FAMILIES

understanding foster care

Foster care provides a temporary home for children and youth while families work toward reunification, or another permanent living arrangement is identified. During this time, our foster families provide stability, encouragement and a sense of belonging while helping ensure each child’s individual needs are met. Our team works alongside foster families to support children’s:

  • Safety and well-being
  • Physical and mental health
  • Educational needs
  • Cultural and spiritual connections
  • Social and emotional development

How we serve

Children in foster care have different experiences and needs. Our foster care program provides several levels of care to help connect each child with an appropriately trained and supported family:

  • Embrace Family Support and Education (AL) – Referrals are received through community providers, including schools, counselors, churches and the court system.
  • Family Preservation (FL) – Referrals are received through the Florida Department of Children and Families and case management contracting entities of Northwest Florida Health Network.
  • Intensive In-Home Services (AL) – Referrals are received through the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR).

*Florida Foster Care licenses traditional foster care, while Alabama licenses all of the above.
